Who Are We?
Love God, Love People, Make Disciples, Change the World!
Our Dallas/ Fort Worth base was planted in October 2018 by base leaders Ryan and Jenny Sersen. We believe in discipleship, sharing Jesus and seeing our community transformed by His power and love. Our heart is to see revival spread through the streets of Fort Worth, to see our community equipped to reach out to the lost and in need and to see Dallas and Fort Worth on fire for Jesus! Our vision is to see houses on each street reaching out to their neighbours and people meeting together to worship throughout the city.
The Team

What Do We Do?
Ryan and Jenny,, had been praying about where they should reach out for sometime, when God highlighted the area of Rodeo Park, Fort Worth, to them. As a team we decided to go there together, to pray and eat lunch - just one week later church in the park was born! Every Sunday, we gather in our local park to meet as church. We spend time praying, worshiping, sharing a gospel message and eating together with the community and homeless. Our area has a high population of homeless people, and we feel a strong call to reach, serve and love them. Since we began Church in the Park, we have built some great relationships and seen God move in powerful ways. We have seen many salvations, healings, homeless people receive homes and hearts being touched, healed and transformed by the love of Jesus. Each week we get to see people encountering the love, power and truth of God !
Love looks like something. Our heart is to meet the needs of our local community however the Holy Spirit leads us to. We often visit homes in the local community, giving away free groceries to those in need, praying for families and sharing Jesus. We are always looking for new ways to meet the needs around us, and part of the way we do this is by asking the people we visit what they see as the biggest needs for their community, and also for them personally.
We arrange regular outdoor events for the community; with food, arts, crafts, bounce house, games and free haircuts for the homeless/community. We also have a time of worship, prayer and an opportunity to hear more about Jesus. These events are a great place for us to get to know people in our community, and also for them to connect with each other - unity in the community!
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. - Acts 2:42 (NIV)
We are passionate about discipleship. Our Kaleo family/core team is made up of people committed to living out covenant relationship. In this setting of love, trust and commitment, true discipleship can take place as we walk through life together. We regularly pray and fast together, take communion, eat together and dig deep into God’s word as a family. God’s word requires a response of love and action, and we are intentional about encouraging each other to apply God’s word and walk out the fullness of the calling that God has on each of our lives.
We are connected with a network of local churches, where we have the opportunity to empower and equip others in sharing Jesus wherever they go. We offer practical sessions on how to share the gospel in a very visual way. Our heart is to see people equipped and activated in their calling, compelled by love to share Jesus in their homes, families, workplaces and communities. Late at night many wander the streets; drugs and prostitution keeping them from their homes, if they have one. We are called to be a light to this world, and it is in the darkest places that we get to shine brightest. At night we take to the streets to give out bags of essentials and simply ask: ‘what’s your story?’. We take time to stop and love the one in front of us. Time and time again we see people experience the love of God, as they are met by his power and presence in the midst of their painful situation.
